3D Type high efficiency design means your bag will last longer. They are layered to provide a 3 stage level of filtration, the inner layer traps larger particles preventing the pores of the secondary layer becoming clogged, while the middle layer traps the majority of finer particles. The last layer provides a last barrier but moreover gives the bag its overall strength preventing the bag from splitting. With this type of bag you will only need to replace the bag when it's actually full as opposed to a paper dust bag that lose their effectiveness when they are only half full.
